Garden and Landscape

Projects

Colonial Period

The various styles of Colonial architecture have a variety of unique features. Each landscape has distinct elements that compliment the architecture and respond to the landforms. With a proper understanding of historical precedents, we are able to create new environments that respect the structure and add another chapter to the vocabulary of this wonderful Period Style.

Arts & Crafts Period

The Arts & Crafts Movement created a true fushion between home and landscape. The interior design of the home flows effortlessly into the outdoors. People are encouraged to engage the landscape in various ways. Outdoor spaces were for working and playing. Sustainable landscape features are adapted to the ecology of the region. The balance between time spent indoors and out helps bring balance to life.

Victorian Period

A properly designed Victorian Garden requires the appreciation of historical precedent. In this small town landscape, order and balance give structure to an entrance garden. A two-tiered fountain pleases the eye and welcomes visitors. Color and texture play contrasting roles in the overall border composition. A private kitchen garden and cutting garden provide a pleasing private space in an otherwise busy downtown environment.

Rural Americana

Rural Homesteads come in many forms. Their uses vary from weekend retreats, hunting lodges, or permanent residences. Each project is unique in physiography, ecology, and sustainabilty. With proper planning and a comprehensive understanding of the land, amazing opportunities to reconnect with wildlife and nature are formed.

Estates

The beauty of creating a comprehensive master plan is the ability to build in phases. Also, contractor bids can be reviewed and compared for the best possible price instead of basing designs from existing nursery promotions. The following images represent a growing list of projects that are in various stages of construction. Each project is delineated with artistic sketches and drafted in the computer to ensure every level of detail has been met.

Cottages

Cottage Gardens are a complex arrangement of plants and outdoor space. Since these homes are generally located on small lots, spatial use and definition are carefully studied. The creation of tertiary spaces with the overall master plan allow for a creative and diverse arrangement of gardens. Each detail and viewpoint is carefully studied for optimal daily enjoyment.
